What Is Target Sprint
Target Sprint, is the internationally recognised air rifle discipline that combines running with target shooting.

For Target Sprint, the run course is short (think bitesize biathlon swapping skis for running shoes) and is interspersed with the shooting of knock down targets. First past the post wins in this contest of accuracy and athleticism.

The event is growing in popularity and the ISSF has developed comprehensive rules that can be found by clicking here. Official events run by British Shooting will adhere to the rules unless otherwise specified (400m run, shoot 5 knock down targets, repeat and then end with a final 400m run).

However, events can be easily adapted to cater for different audiences through the shortening of the run course or the inclusion of relays. We have collated a number of ideas to help you create and run your own event here.
