British Shooting’s athletes have had some great performances in the junior World Cup in Porpetto.

The stand out win came from James Dedman who secured gold in Double Trap and set a new junior world record.

The shooter performed fantastically and kept his nerve to see off Finland’s Miki Ylonen in the final.

Theo Ling and Augusta Campos Martyn made the Mixed Pairs semi-final having qualified in second place after a shoot-off with Italy.

Meanwhile, Ellie Seward and Augusta Campos Martyn made the final in the Junior Ladies OTR and finished 4th and 5th respectively. Due to the pair’s performance, they were then entered into an additional event where six of the top senior athletes and three juniors from all three World Cups competed. Augusta came first and Ellie came fourth in this subsequent event.

Christian Schofield said: “The aim for some of the athletes was preparation for the World Championships in Moscow and for others it was a development opportunity.

“The event was a great opportunity for everyone to learn a great deal.

“The support to all the athletes continues after the event so that when they have reflected on the experience the British Shooting support team will ensure they get as much out of the experience as possible.”
