Entries are open for the first ever British Shooting Olympic Trap Mixed Pairs Championships.

This new event, that forms part of selection for the GBR Mixed Trap team for Major event will be the first major Mixed Pairs event held in the UK. This is a great opportunity for all shooters who want to experience this new format, that will be part of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.

It is also a chance for any shooters, aspiring to compete for GBR in mixed pairs on the World stage and potentially the Olympic Games, to lay down a marker for selection.

The event takes place at Nuthampstead Shooting Ground on Friday 1st (PET) and Saturday 2nd June 2018 and entry details are as follows:

All entries for this event should me made directly to Nuthampstead Shooting Ground:

Email: nicky@clayshoot.biz
Phone: 01763 848172
Entry cost: £80 per pair (£40 each) - payable to the ground

All entries must be made as a mixed pair. Individual entries by shooters who have not got themselves into a mixed pair will not be accepted or accommodated. Same sex pairs will not be allowed to enter the shoot.

One individual from the pair can make the entry on behalf of the pair, but they must identify who they are shooting with.

Deadline for entries – Friday 1st June at 12:00 midday

The event will follow the same format as shot in ISSF event. This means 75 targets in qualification and then a final for the top six pairs.

Further information regarding the event can be found by clicking here.

Performance Director, Steven Seligmann, said: “Having reviewed the Mixed Trap events over the last 12 months, it is already proving to be a different challenge to the individual event.

"Therefore it's important that we train and compete appropriately to maximise this opportunity. The Mixed Pair Championships is a great opportunity for athletes to further prepare for this event and give us the best opportunity to compete at the World Championships and secure quota places.”

Performance Operations Manager, Alex Ballard, said: “The Olympic Trap Mixed Pairs Championship that British Shooting is holding provides an exciting opportunity to bring this event to life in the UK. This event, along with being linked to selection, will hopefully see some fantastic and exciting mixed pairs competitive action.”
