Elena Selected Onto Athlete Committee
British Shooting would like to wish a huge congratulations to Elena Allen who has been elected onto the ISSF Athletes Committee
Allen has competed on the international stage for GB for 20 years, during which she has taken part in three Olympic Games including Beijing, London and Rio. And British Shooting think the appointment of the Skeet shooter onto the ISSF Athlete Committee is a fantastic choice.
The ISSF Executive Committee met on 12 September 2018 to receive the official vote count for the election of the members of the ISSF Athletes Committee and appoint additional members.
The Athletes election vote was conducted during the World Championship from 2 to 11 September 201 and was supervised by the World Championship Jury of Appeal.
The official vote count was presented in a sealed envelope to the ISSF President during the Executive Committee meeting and the President presented the election results to Committee members.
Speaking of her appointment, Elena said: “I am delighted and honoured to be part of the ISSF Athletes Committee.
“I hope to make positive contributions particularly at a time when ISSF is going through some changes with the elections of a new president looming in a couple months time.”
The four athletes who received the highest number of votes were automatically elected. The athletes who were elected are:
Kimberly Rhode, USA (Shotgun)
Daniele Di Spigno, ITA (Shotgun)
Christian Reitz, GER (Pistol)
Cassio Cesar Rippel, BRA (Rifle)
The Executive Committee is required to then appoint three additional members from the candidates and those chosen were:
Olena Kostevych, UKR (Pistol)
Elena Allen, GBR (Shotgun)
Petar Gorsa, CRO (Rifle)
