The British Shooting Shotgun Grand Final 2018 took place at Fauxdegla this weekend and it was a huge success.

Despite the North Wales rain and wind doing its best to put a dampener on the event, the British shooters remained relentless and ensured a thrilling competition for competitors and spectators alike.

Olympic Trap, Olympic Skeet and Para Trap was on show over the two days of qualifications and finals with Kirsty Barr and Steve Scott winning gold in Trap, Amber Hill and Ben Llewellin taking top spot in Skeet and Alan Ritchie securing gold in Para Trap.

All four gold medallists went into the event ranked number one from the Shotgun Series qualification events, but the most impressive result of the day has to be from Steve Scott, who has only recently transitioned from Double Trap to Trap, after DT was removed from the Olympic programme a year ago. Whatís more, Steve Scott was in the gold medal match against current world number one, Aaron Heading, who had to settle for silver.

Building on the success of the British Shooting Grand Final 2017, the Shotgun Series was designed to provide a really exciting and inspirational competition series for all shotgun shooters across the UK, and that culminated in the fantastic Grand Final.

The focus of the event is to bring the best shooters in the UK together, and give everyone a chance to qualify. Qualification for the final was determined by combining each athleteís best three finishing placings taken from a defined list of events through 2018, including the three qualification Shotgun Series events.
