The first skeet leg of the British Shooting Shotgun Series took place this weekend at the Mid-Wales Shooting Centre in beautiful sunshine.

Building on the success of the British Shooting Grand Final 2017, the Shotgun Series is designed to provide a really exciting and inspirational competition series for all shotgun shooters across the UK, culminating in what will be another fantastic Grand Final event in 2018.

Amber Hill and Freddy Killander were the top senior performers on the day with each securing a gold medal in the Welsh hills.

The junior gold medal winners were Dom Cooper and Emily Hibbs.

Speaking after winning gold, Amber said: ďItís a great event to come to especially as the sun is shining. Especially because Iíve been away competing for the past month so itís nice to be on home soil.

ďItís nice to be alongside some familiar faces but thereís also lots of younger shooters that Iíve never met before which is great Ė and hopefully Iíll be able to inspire more young people into the sport as well.

ďItís been a great day and I know everyoneís been enjoying it.Ē

Freddy said: ďItís been fantastic. Probably one of the best shoots Iíve been to in the UK and it was an amazing event to be at Ė and fortunately I did enough to come out with a gold medal.Ē
