Day one of the shooting events at the Commonwealth Games saw a whole host of impressive performances from our home nation shooters.
Although only one medal was secured throughout the day courtesy of Amber Hillís silver, there will be lots of athletes coming away from Australia delighted with their final standing.
The first finalist of the day was Walesí Coral Kennerley, who qualified for the final of the Womenís 10m Air Pistol in 7th position. She went on to finish 5th in the final with a score of 374.
In Menís 10m Air Rifle, both Wales and England had athletes reach the final. Welshman Mike Bamsey finished in 5th position Ė his highest ever position at a Commonwealth Games and Dean Bale finished 7th in his Games debut.
Another athlete making her Games debut was Skeetís, who Emily Hibbs performed fantastically to secure a 5th place finish after being eliminated based only on her bib number.
In day one of Menís Skeet, there are a number of shooterís sitting pretty in qualification. Walesí Ben Llewellin is sitting 2nd with a score of 49, England's Jack Fairclough is looking good also with a score of 49, Northern Irelandís Gareth McAuley is on 47 in 8th position and Englandís Freddy Killander is in 13th position scoring 44.
