The British Shooting School Pistol Champions are back for 2017 and look set to feature even more schools as interest grows following the huge success of last year's competition.

The 2017-18 Championships will consist of four qualifying events which feed into the National Final with individual and team events each in three age categories for both able bodied and disabled athletes. All categories are mixed gender.

British Shooting welcome all athletes to enter and represent their schooling establishment (home schooling is allowed). Talent Pathway opportunities are available during and following these Championships if athletes are interested in further activity.

Events and Commercial Co-ordinator, Gorgs Geikie, is delighted that the competition has returned for 2017. She said: "After fully introducing the competition to the UK in 2016, it's very excited to be able to announce it has returned this year.

"At British Shooting we want to do more to introduce youngsters to our sport and we think this is a great way of getting involved. A huge bonus this year is that we have teamed up with the Talent Pathway to ensure that anyone who participates and wants to take it further will have the opportunity to do so.

"I competed at the London 2012 Olympics representing Team GB as a pistol shooter and I want to do everything possible to help youngsters get involved and potentially create Olympic dreams of their own."
