British Shooting is delighted to announce a new and exciting competition series for shotgun shooters in 2018.
Building on a successful Grand Final event last month at Fauxdegla Shooting Ground, the 2018 season will see the introduction the British Shooting Shotgun Series - an all new series of three competition event rounds that lead into a bigger and better Grand Final event for 2018.
The British Shooting Shotgun Series will be open to all shooters in the UK to enter and will also be the principal domestic event considered by the GBR selection panel for GBR teams competing in major events.
Performance Operations Manager Alex Ballard, said: “We are so excited to be launching the British Shooting Shotgun Series for 2018. As with last month’s Grand Final, we are striving to create really exciting and quality competition environments for all Olympic shooters within GBR. We are very much looking forward to working with the shooting grounds involved in the series.
“These will be the principle events for GBR team selection and we hope that the prizes, partnerships and initiatives that are part of the series will be really aspirational for shooters across all categories. I’m really pleased to announce RC Cartridges as a major event partner for the series, and we thank them for their involvement which will no doubt help make the series competitions great events to be part of.
“More detailed information outlining the Series will be released over the coming weeks but we felt it was important to announce the concept of the series and the event dates as soon as possible.”
The dates and venues of each round of the series can be seen below:
The British Shooting Shotgun Series is a four-event series of competitions in Olympic Trap and Olympic Skeet where athletes compete across three events (rounds) to reach the season ending Grand Final.
Each round will be open run events, for any shooter who wishes to enter. The events will be shot under ISSF rules over 2 days. Each round will have its own exciting prizes and prize purse for winners across all categories supported by our major event partners, RC Cartridges. A Race to the Grand Final standings system will be in place to identify the top shooters from all categories who will qualify for the Grand Final.
A season ending Grand Final will cap off the British Shooting Shotgun Series where the title of overall British Shooting Shotgun Series winner will be crowned.
Further information about the British Shooting Shotgun Series will be made available throughout November.
The full GBR team selection policy will be released during November with full details on selection for GBR.
